Getting the wireless connection works fine was the first step, after installing a “clean” ubuntu A bit of experimentation suggests that it’s a whole lot more stable when network manager is replaced with wicd. Retransmission” interestingly, no retransmission events occur when using wired connection If I move the WUSBN V2 to a Windows XP home box and stream the same AAC from the first Windows box the one which I used for the windows share for my Linux tests I experience zero audio glitches, this is even though the windows box reports low signal two bars and a I gave up on the wusbn for now, going to go with a wireless bridge when I get around to getting one. It’s also strange that my internal G card only connects at 24 while the WUSBN connects at the full 54 MBps, but that’s another problem for another day. Unfortunately, it seems that Ralink has not been released yet the linux module. ISO images are available from http:

No oops, no drops, ping-flooded to my local gateway for 24 hours, packet loss 0. Do I need to manually associate the driver with the device somehow? I really don’t understand why I haven’t been able to get this adapter working in Ubuntu since Whenever the kernel is upgraded, you’ll need to so ‘make ; sudo make install’ again, but that should be it. I will try to understand, with the source files, how the bit rate given by the “iwconfig” command is computed and try to know the real bit rate.
Installing A WUSB600N In Linux
I’m setting up a Jaunty RC4 installation right now. As well, please remove the tag: Error – Invalid RT chipset detected. Getting the wireless connection works fine was the first step, after installing a “clean” ubuntu I guess this also means that I owe the producers of this little gizmo an apology: If these steps do not work, try again with placing this line in the RT section.
I’m gonna try my hand at modifying it like emory did and see if it is any more stable on this kernel. In fact, I bought this device thinking it would work then found out it was a V2 with a different chipset.
But if the action is in Linksys’ court, I’m not sure they would help us at all. Retransmission” interestingly, no retransmission events occur when using wired connection. Also compiled in Mint 10 x64 and worked.

Since I am no expert on this hardware, I am not going to proceed further. I think I’m going to play with Live CD to icsco I am trying to find a way to get the driver to report the correct channel or to modify the network tools I am using so they ignore the incorrect channel because it seems to actually change channels without problems. The attached dmesg is what happens when I try to authenticate with the On step 3 i only get “linksys” is that alright?
All in all having 6 days of continuous connectivity on a desktop is It should work with the older rt driver – there’s lots on google for getting that to work. However, again it fails on connecting to WPA2 networks bad password though it will connect to unsecure networks???
lknux Only requires you compile and install the driver – no additional tweaks necessary. But since the module oopsed, I was unable to send any commands to the wireless interface via NetworkManager, iwconfig, etc.
Linksys WUSBN v1 – WikiDevi
Message 24 of 24 4, Views. Not only can I confirm that this device doesn’t work in Linux; it doesn’t work in bit Windows 7 either! Any word from the vendors on this bug? I think a re-do will be necessary with any kernel or release upgrade.
Linksys WUSB600N v2
Unfortunately, it seems that Ralink has not been released yet the linux module. I have read that the drivers won’t compile on a 64 bit system but i’ve compiled up to the last two upgrades.
The driver from 85 on wicd is still the best I’ve found, however it is prone to dropping out, sometimes regularly, sometimes not at all.
Follow the instructions as he laid out. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug’s Status as Confirmed. These days very few devices outright won’t work.
Once you’ve tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested.
