While the vast majority of TV tuners are analog based meaning they use analog components such as resistors, inductors and capacitors to create band-pass filters that allow certain frequencies to pass through thus “tuning” to those channels, the AIW Radeon DV implements virtually all of those analog components into a single piece of silicon. With the exceptions of using dedicated decoder cards, you won’t get better DVD playback than with the Radeon s.
The All-in-Wonder line debuted with the Rage chipset series. The advantage is pretty obvious in terms of saved space, and it also makes channel switching a lot faster. This would be great if you had a system set up as a home theatre unit, since you can even access the windows shutdown menu and display properties to change settings if they were required. The cards use a variety of specialised ports along the side to provide output to televisions, with the retail version provided with composite ports and the ability to output to component.

Archived copy as title. Next up, and this is the big feature, is the TV tuner. There is an additional piece of silicon on the board that is contained within a bit of metal shielding. Regular,  MB, DV . ATi is one of the few manufacturers I can think of that actually fills up the box that the video card comes in: Conventional tuner top vs. Later products also comes with a Remote Wonder remote control and a USB RF receiver to receive radio frequency signals from the remote.
This might end up becoming standard practice. While it also gives you faster tuning abilities meaning you can surf as fast as humanly possibleATI has always had relatively fast TV tuners on their cards, including their analog tuners. The 2nd Firewire port is located on this dongle.
It’s also nice to have the composite and S-video inputs. XT,  Pro,  Regular . The last one I can recall having a software bundle being worthwhile was the Elsa Gladiacwhich came with the GF3 enhanced version of Giants. I usually complain that video cards don’t come with any packaged games. The ports being located on the card itself doesn’t cost ATI much to implement and gives them a good marketing edge over the competition by being able to claim true DV capabilities.

Each of 850d0v All-in-Wonder Radeon cards is based on a Radeon chipset with extra features incorporated onto the board. For the record, the only difference as far as performance is concerned is clock speeds: The TV software is pretty easy to set up, and easily allows you to switch between input sources, capture frames, adjust zoom and picture size, and start recording with just one click.

ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500DV
This gives the DV a digital TV tuner this doesn’t mean it can receive HDTV channels, it just means it uses digital circuitry instead of analog which in theory can offer better quality as a result of decreased interference and faster tuning.

The AiW DV ships with software called Guide Plus that, with a little bit of configuration information, fulfills this exact function. I’m not going to run a whole lot of gaming 800dv here.
Regular,  Pro . Very useful for those of us that don’t like to hunt for the TV Guide. The tuner works great, allowing you to select numerous different input sources and configure channels and such.
